San Giljan were joined by Neptunes at the top of the Winter League table as they lost 9-8. The Saints which were missing coach Emil Nikolic on the bench who was indisposed and were including Aurelien Cousin on his debut were off to a good start in the first half of the game but never managed to go beyond a two goal advantage wasting some easy chances to widen the gap between them and their opponents.
Unfortunately our team in the second part of the game lost its tempo especially in attack as Neptunes managed to turn the two goal disadvantage into a two goal advantage and the effort in the final session was not enough for San Giljan to save at least a point from this derby.
San Giljan Allcare Insurance play their final Winter League match which should prove decisive for the title against Sliema on Saturday 9th May at 14.30.
