San Giljan Tum Invest overcome stiff Sirens challenge to register third consecutive Winter League victory
San Giljan won their fourth Winter League – the third in a row – and registered their 40th consecutive win in a surprisingly hard-fought encounter against Sirens Greentube who gave them a real run for their money.

San Giljan ASC were declared winners of the SportMalta“Team of the Year” for 2017. A fully deserved reward for the team which in this calendar year won all the matches it featured in and most importantly all the competitions that saw its participation namely thePremier Division League, Knock Out Competitiona as well as the Winter League. In 2018 the team picked up from where it had left in 2017 winning the first edition of the Enemed Cup.
A fair tribute to all those who spearheaded by Club President Dr. Daniel Aquilina worked hard to put this Club at the very top of the local game.
Club President also thanked St. Julian’s Mayor Mr. Guido Dalli for accompanying the delegation of Committee members and players on the award night.

The first edition of the Enemed Trophy went to San Giljan today, as the saints overcame Sliema and notched their 33rd win in as many matches, a record in the local waterpolo sphere.San Giljan won all 25 games in a super 2017 which had them win all competitions. They added another eight games in this new competition to reach 33 wins in a row. The previous 32-match unbeaten stretch record also belonged to San Giljan, a record they had reached in the 1994-95 season. That time, however, the record was made up of 29 wins and three draws. During this tournament the Maltese will be meeting the big guns of European waterpolo ahead of a qualifying round for the European championships against Belarus.
